Raw Feeding for Puppies

Raw Feeding a puppy

Raw feeding a puppy may feel difficult or even a bit intimidating. How much should I feed? What should I feed? How often? Does my puppy get everything he or she needs?

We have developed a raw complete meal just for puppies: Vaisto Puppy Ice Blue. Vaisto Puppy provides your puppy with all essential nutrients from their ideal, natural sources. Nonetheless Vaisto Puppy is also suitable to be used with other complete meals.

A small puppy may need to be fed up to four times a day. Little by little most shift to feeding once or twice a day. By 6 months age most puppies are able to eat just twice a day. This varies a little by breed– so make sure to check with your breeder.

In the tables below, we have gathered approximate daily amounts of feeding for puppies of different ages and sizes. As the amounts are only approximate, your puppy’s needs may vary from the ones stated below. Be sure to keep an eye on the demeanor of your puppy– a puppy should be lean but not skinny and of course lively and playful.

Your puppies needs might vary greatly from this table. It is extremely important to keep a close eye on you puppies development.

For breeders

A puppy weaning from their mother may not be ready to start eating Vaisto Puppy Ice Blue straight away. We recommend starting feeding solids very slowly with for example boneless chicken. Please consider your country’s salmonella and other bacteria situation when choosing a suitable raw boneless meat.

When the puppy is eating boneless solids without issues, may you slowly start mixing in Vaisto Puppy. At this point it is extremely important to keep close watch on the puppy’s bowel movements. If no digestion problems arise, you may slowly start increasing the amount of Vaisto Puppy in the puppy’s diet. Depending on breed, almost all puppies are ready to start trying Vaisto Puppy at the age of 5-6 weeks. Some puppies eat Vaisto Puppy as early as 3-4 weeks age without any problems.

In addition to complete meals, you can give puppies meaty bones or dry treats to strengthen their jaws. VAINU Chicken necks for example are a great first treat for your puppy.
